From Disaster to joy
 From Disaster to
Yesterday we travelled to Edinburgh airport to collect the Gran who was flying up from Cardiff airport to spend Christmas with us. The flight was cancelled. Fog at Cardiff airport. As we travelled along that stretch of motorway between Edinburgh and Glasgow (M 9 is it? We got a bit lost, you see ) we pondered how we could get her up to the Highlands before Christmas.
Returning home up the A9 we had a phone call - the old dog had been run over and was currently in a bad way at the vets in Tain. Things were looking dire.

an 'all's well in the end' scenario
The Gran arrived Inverness airport mid-day today. The dog - battered, bruised and medicated returned home from the vet this afternoon.
The gran's rearranged flight and transport to Bristol airport was kindly facilitated by a host of good folk down south, and the dog's trip to the vet facilitated  - in our absence as we made our way back up the A9  - by good neighbours in this neck of the woods. Now that's what Christmas is all about, eh?
Have a good one!
